Young conductor entirely formed at the Venezuelan National System of Youth and Children Orchestras and Choirs, already known as one of the most promising talents of his native country.
In 2016, Rodolfo was one of the fourteen conductors chosen among hundreds of applicants to take part at the fifth edition of the Mahler Competition, alongside the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra in Germany. More recently, he has been selected as one of the twelve finalists of the First Edition of the International Orchestra Conducting Award OFUNAM (Mexico), event that will take place in September 2018.
Barráez is a graduate of the National Experimental University of Arts in Caracas, Venezuela. Currently, he continues his studies at the prestigious Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, under the guidance of Prof. Christian Ehwald and Prof. Alexander Vitlin. Meanwhile, he develops as a conductor at the internationally renowned El Sistema, has performed concerts with the Simón Bolívar Symphony, Teresa Carreño Symphony Orchestra, Caracas Symphony Orchestra, among others.
